NetSuite Technical Lead

We’re seeking a hands-on NetSuite technical owner who can design, build, and support custom NetSuite solutions. This role is developer-forward (SuiteScript + automation + integrations), while also supporting core NetSuite administration and ongoing maintenance. You’ll work across Finance and Operations to keep NetSuite stable, scalable, and easy to use. You will be the subject matter expert in all things NetSuite and surrounding it.
Key Responsibilities
NetSuite Development & Automation
- Build and maintain custom solutions using SuiteScript 2.x:
- Create custom record frameworks, automation utilities, and internal tooling that reduces manual work. Creativity in solutioning is a must.
- Implement safe, repeatable patterns for logging, retries, governance handling, batching, and error reporting.
- Own integrations between NetSuite and external systems (APIs, webhooks, iPaaS tools, scheduled syncs).
- Support billing through integration, payments through integration, invoicing through multiple avenues, and external platform sync workflows.
NetSuite Administration & Configuration
- Administer and maintain NetSuite configuration:
- Roles/permissions, forms, custom fields, custom records, workflows, approvals
- Sourcing/defaulting behavior, and system rules/guardrails
- Support end users: triage issues, fix root causes, improve processes, and provide lightweight training/documentation.
- Maintain system stability with controlled deployments and change management.
Reporting, Analytics, and Financial Support
- Build and optimize saved searches, formulas, KPIs, dashboards, and operational/financial reporting.
- Support transaction automation and accuracy across:
- Work carefully within accounting rules and audit requirements (period controls, data integrity, traceability).
- Assist with intercompany/subsidiary complexity when applicable (mappings, cross-subsidiary rules).
Operational Ownership
- Act as the technical owner for production NetSuite solutions:
- Troubleshoot issues quickly (scripts, workflows, permissions, integrations)
- Improve reliability and performance over time
- Document what’s built so it’s supportable (technical notes + basic user docs)
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver upgrades without disrupting operations.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with NetSuite SuiteScript 2.x, including production work with Map/Reduce, User Events, Suitelets, and RESTlets.
- Strong NetSuite admin fundamentals: saved searches, custom records/fields, workflows, forms, and roles/permissions.
- Integration experience: REST APIs, JSON, authentication, webhooks, error handling/retries.
- Proven ability to debug and support production systems (safe fixes, minimal downtime mindset).
- Comfortable working with finance and operational transaction data (understanding how changes can affect accounting outcomes).
- Experience with subscription billing/payments and AP ecosystems Stripe and Tipalti being major ones.

- Key processes are automated and stable.
- Integrations run reliably with clear visibility into failures and easy recovery.
- Users trust the system because it’s consistent, fast, and predictable.
- Enhancements ship regularly without breaking the accounting or operational workflow.
This position is 100% remote. Applicants must have a dedicated home workstation for focused work and on-camera meetings.
SALARY RANGE: $90,000-100,000
