Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and monitor SQL + Python pipelines in BigQuery (GCP).
  • Model clean, tested tables in DBT and publish a living data dictionary.
  • Maintain Segment & Mixpanel schemas; keep warehouse tables and event streams in sync.
  • Develop Looker explores and dashboards that enable true self-serve data access.
  • Prepare datasets for LLM/RAG use cases (embeddings, vector stores, prompt-side joins).
  • Work directly with Product, Growth, and Ops to scope data needs and set SLAs.
  • Mentor engineers and analysts on data modeling, testing, and cost control.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building cloud data pipelines (BigQuery or similar).
  • Expert-level SQL; solid Python for ETL, automation, and APIs.
  • Deep DBT experience (tests, exposures, CI/CD).
  • Hands-on Looker (LookML, access controls, user training).
  • Proven record partnering with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, comfortable interfacing directly with stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in marketplace or fintech environments.
  • Familiarity with additional data stack tools (Airflow, Fivetran, or similar).
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow) for data preparation or model support.

LATAM Operations

This is a full-time contract role based in Brazil (fully remote) or Argentina (hybrid from our Buenos Aires office). We communicate primarily in English, so strong written and verbal skills are required. Work hours are flexible but require consistent availability from 10 AM–3 PM local time. The position offers up to 15 days of annual PTO plus paid local public holidays, subject to company discretion.
