Job Description: General Manager, Europe
Location: Europe (France strongly preferred; Spain, Germany, UK considered)
Reports to: VP Customer Experience (with matrix alignment to CMO and VP Product)
Model: Full-time, remote with extensive regional travel
Role Overview
The General Manager, Europe is Turno’s senior regional executive responsible for GTM strategy, revenue performance, marketplace liquidity, brand presence, and local operations across Europe. This is a highly cross-functional role operating within a matrix organization. The GM must therefore excel at influencing without direct authority, creating alignment, and driving results through cross-functional partners while directly owning regional strategy, prioritization, and business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a multilingual (English + French + one more) commercial leader with deep European market knowledge, strong public presence, and experience scaling SaaS/marketplace businesses across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities
Regional Leadership & Strategy
- Build and own the European GTM strategy, including market prioritization, channel strategy, partnerships, and localization across France, UK, Spain, Germany, and other markets.
- Own the European business performance: revenue, marketplace liquidity, and adoption/retention.
- Operate effectively within a matrixed environment, partnering closely with global Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams.
- Represent regional needs in global planning cycles; advocate for Europe within global leadership forums.
- Partner with the CMO to define localized marketing priorities, campaigns, content, and event calendars.
- Partner with the VP of Customer Experience to deploy and performance-manage Sales, CE/CX, and regional support resources in Europe.
- Partner with Product to surface market-specific requirements (VAT, SEPA payments, labor classification norms, messaging patterns, language support, etc.).
- Establish clear communication rhythms across matrixed teams and align regional and functional goals.
- Work with global functional leads to ensure European teams have the right staffing, language coverage, playbooks, and KPIs.
- Translate global sales and customer success strategies into localized execution that respects country-specific customs, channels, and buying behaviors.
- Own pipeline acceleration, revenue performance, and account growth through cross-functional leadership.
- Foster a performance-driven culture with clarity, accountability, and strong cross-functional communication.
- Serve as Turno’s European public face at conferences, STR events, partner summits, podcasts, and trade shows.
- Develop and sustain relationships with hosts and property managers, service providers, professional associations, PMS partners, and vendors across the region.
- Build a strong European speaking calendar and ensure local representation across key markets.
- Partner with Marketing to localize brand messaging, case studies, PR, and market-specific content.
- Ensure a healthy marketplace by maintaining supply/demand balance and solving liquidity gaps country by country.
- Identify and communicate regional operational needs related to competition, regulation, payments, contracting norms, and ecosystem practices.
- Provide insights to Product for local feature adaptations and multilingual support.
- Ensure compliance with local labor, contractual, and tax requirements, partnering closely with Legal and Ops.
- Fluent in English, French and one additional language (written + spoken). Fluency in Spanish, Italian or German is strongly valued.
- 10+ years in GTM leadership, regional operations, or marketplace/SaaS scale-up roles.
- Experience operating within a matrix organization, driving results through influence rather than direct reporting lines.
- Proven success owning a regional P&L or market-level revenue responsibility.
- Strong understanding of European business norms, regulations, payments, labor models, and cultural expectations.
- Excellent external presence: confident speaker for conferences, webinars, podcasts, and partner events.
- Experience scaling businesses across multiple European countries.
- Hospitality, STR, or travel-tech experience
- Marketplace operations experience (balancing supply/demand, liquidity, trust, and classification issues)
- Relationships with European STR property managers, PMS companies, and industry groups
